Employees taking more sick leave than others?
Most employees only take sick leave for genuine reasons and some employees rarely take any time off. However, it is a known fact that some employees take more sick leave than others and sometimes it is not for genuine reasons of ill health. High amounts of sick absence have an adverse effect on the moral of other employees and reduces profit margins.
CustomHR has helped companies in the past to address issues with employees taking more than average amounts of time off as sick leave. We have also helped organisations to address long term sick absences, where in one such case an employee had been on the records as long term sick for over 3 years. With our assistance the contract of employment ceased due to frustration of contract.
Employees not performing satisfactorily?
All employees have a duty to perform to a satisfactory standard. If they are not performing to a satisfactory standard then they are costing you money and reducing your profit margins.
CustomHR has helped companies address individual situations with under-performing employees and has also introduced comprehensive performance management systems. A common problem that we have helped businesses with is; where an individual employee has been getting away with doing the bare minimum and sometimes less! We have helped to get the employee to perform, and in some cases where they do not improve they have been dealt with accordingly in a fair and reasonable manner.
Managers find it difficult to manage people?
A lot of managers are internally promoted because they are good at managing the processes, procedures and in manufacturing the machinery. However the soft skills of managing people are something that most of us find difficult and may choose to avoid. This then causes frustration with employees and reduces moral and motivation which has a knock on effect of poor profit margins.
CustomHR has developed a system of running internal people management and leadership workshops that develop the people management skills required for managers, team leaders and supervisors to enhance the performance of their teams.
