The Abolition of the Default Retirement Age
Everything that employers need to do to prepare
Davies and Partners Solicitors / EBRS / Custom HR invites you to join them for a lunchtime briefing seminar that will take a practical look at the issues facing organisations caused by the removal of the Default Retirement Age.
We have partnered with X and Y to devise a seminar that will tell you what you need to know from three legal and HR perspectives and give you the chance to network with your peers over a buffet lunch. You will have the opportunity to share your workplace experiences and ask questions directly to one of our experts. This is a unique opportunity to get a comprehensive and practical briefing in one session – here is what we will cover:
The employment law perspective
Sarah Whittock, Solicitor at Davies and Partners, will explain the legal implications of the abolition of the Default Retirement Age. Find out what you can still do and how you need to prepare your business for the changes.
HR practice
Tony Alcock, Director at Custom HR, will tell you how robust performance management systems will become an important people management tool. He will explain how good use of disciplinary and performance systems, capability and ability reviews and good appraisal procedures will not only improve employee performance but will also give you an alternative method for addressing retirement.
Employee reward considerations
Karl Ellis, Director at EBRS, will give some tips on how you can design your pay structures to reward skills and performance, rather than time in post. He will also give you some pointers for employee benefits such as annual leave and the forthcoming changes to workplace pensions.
